Scientists and agricultural producers discussed the practical application of biotechnology for growing environmentally friendly products at UzhNU

Together with experts from BTU, university faculty members and successful alumni analyzed the effectiveness of beneficial microorganisms in horticulture and shared their experiences in caring for organic berry patches and permaculture gardens

On January 21, the Faculty of Biology at UzhNU hosted the All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference “BTU Biotechnological Products in Horticulture and Vegetable Growing Technologies.”
The event was organized by the biotechnology company BTU and the Department of Fruit and Vegetable Growing and Viticulture at the Faculty of Biology of UzhNU.

The conference brought together specialists in the field of horticulture and vegetable growing to discuss practical solutions for the application of biopreparations. The focus was on current trends in the industry’s development, real-world production case studies from farms, and innovative approaches that contribute to increasing crop yields and the stability of agricultural production.

The opening remarks were delivered by the Dean of the Faculty of Biology, Associate Professor Yaroslava Hasynets, who highlighted the importance of biotechnological developments for modern agricultural production. The participants were also greeted by the head of the Department of Fruit and Vegetable Growing and Viticulture, Associate Professor Vitalii Symocho, who emphasized the need for close cooperation and the integration of science with practice.

Another unique feature of the conference was that 97% of the participants who registered via the Google form actually attended the event.

The conference demonstrated growing interest among specialists in biotechnological solutions for horticulture and vegetable growing and confirmed the effectiveness of the university’s collaboration with leading domestic companies.
